Responsibilities

 

Role purpose and Responsibilities

  • Cognitive engineer is a core member of the agile teams implementing cognitive solutions. These cognitive solutions are to be fit-for-purpose, efficient, and of high quality
  • The responsibility of the cognitive engineer is to build and implement new cognitive functionalities based on extensive Transversal Analysis and Architecture blueprint for clients

 

Essence of Role – key accountabilities

  • Responsible for configuring cognitive modules of Amelia – or creating new customized modules with help of Product Engineering – to ensure Amelia can address required functionality
  • Review outcome of the Transversal Analysis and target Architecture blueprint
  • Configure (‘train’) Amelia for the agreed use cases
  • Test Amelia against concrete cases and implement refinements
  • Discuss with Technical Architect and Cognitive Project Leads approaches to each technical challenge and agree on technical solution
  • Develop and test each module functionally until it reaches expected behavior
  • Work with integration experts to connect developed functional solutions to the Automatons that communicate with back-end systems
  • After project execution, review ‘structural’ changes and developed APIs and decide with R&D if any should be standardized in Amelia

·         Stress test new/modified pieces to ensure they can withstand technical end user requirements

Integration & security

·         Review the outcome of Transversal Analysis & target Architecture blueprint

·         Create agile work plan for agreed functionality and validate with cognitive project lead

·         Reuse APIs and automatas or create new APIs and automatas to integrate Amelia with relevant client systems and security framework

·         Discuss with Technical Architect and Cognitive Project Leads approaches to each technical challenge and agree on technical solution

·         Stress test new/modified interfaces to ensure they can withstand technical requirements

Methodology & testing

·         Create testing approach

·         Develop automated testing environments

·         Develop and build new approaches to automate Amelia implementations

Other cognitive modules – new and updated

·         Learn and develop desired functionality in other modules (e.g. SLU, FAQ, CT, Episodic Memory, etc.)

·         Verify and deploy functionality after sign-off and testing

Cognitive functionality expertise

·         Act as an expert in collaboration with business architects in the team to select Amelia modules and functionality to best meet business goals for epics under implementation

 

Tools/skills required

Specification

Essential

Design/development of Java/J2EE based applications – Knowledge in common J2EE frameworks is recommended

2-7 years

Understanding and the ability to create flow-diagrams

Ability to work with regular expressions

·          

REST/SOAP based Web Services

·          

Experience in working with databases like Mysql and application servers (like tomcat, Jboss, Weblogic, Websphere, ATG, resin)

·          

Javascript/HTML/CSS

·          

Hands-On with Agile methodologies

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering / Computer science or related field.
